🌼 My Wellness Kitchen – Foods I Trust for Healing and Balance
Welcome to my wellness kitchen — a space where every ingredient is chosen with care, love, and intention. Over the years, I’ve relied on simple, nourishing foods and herbs to support my family’s health, manage fatigue, improve digestion, and stay emotionally grounded.
Here are some staples I always keep in my kitchen for health, immunity, and spiritual balance.
🍚 Grains & Lentils I Trust
Yellow Moong Dal – Light, cooling, and easy to digest. My go-to dal during stress, illness, or fasting.
Hand-Pounded Rice – Gentle on digestion, more natural than polished white rice.
Sabudana (Sago) – Excellent during fatigue and fasting days.
Sabudana Vadas(Tapioca cutlets)-Navratri Special
🧂 Healing Spices from My Masala Box
Turmeric (Haldi) – Anti-inflammatory and spiritually purifying.
Turmeric – The Golden Spice with Powerful Healing Properties
Jeera (Cumin) – Improves digestion, especially after heavy or acidic meals.
Ajwain (Carom seeds) – For bloating, cramps, and gas. I often chew a few after meals.
Hing (Asafoetida) – A small pinch in dals and curries helps prevent indigestion.
Coriander Powder – Cooling and supports hormonal balance.
🧈 Fats That Heal
Desi Cow Ghee – The heart of my kitchen. I use it for cooking, lighting diyas, and even applying a little on chapped lips or dry skin.
All About Life: Food, Family, Festivals & Everyday Inspiration
Cold-Pressed Mustard Oil – Especially for winter recipes and deep flavor.
Coconut Oil – Useful for cooking, hair care, and oil pulling in the morning.
🪔 Daily Ritual Ingredients
Rock Salt (Sendha Namak) – Spiritually cleansing, also preferred during fasts.
Tulsi Leaves (Holy Basil) – I use it in tea, kadhas, and morning rituals.
Dry Ginger (Sonth) – Warms the body and relieves body ache and sore throat.
🍵 Kadha & Herbal Healing
Amla (Indian Gooseberry) – I prefer the whole fruit; it helps my skin and digestion.
Mulethi (Licorice Root) – I add a piece to warm water or tea for throat and gut.
Triphala Powder – I occasionally take it at night for gentle detox and digestion.
Home made immunity boosting (Kadha/Kashayam )Powder:
🥛 Ayurvedic Pantry Additions
Makhana (Fox Nuts) – A high-protein, sattvic snack.
Almonds & Raisins (soaked overnight) – For morning vitality.
Ragi Flour – Great for bone health and especially energizing during menopause.
🍽️ Kitchen Tools I Use for Wellness Cooking
Steel Pressure Cooker – For light khichdi and dal
Clay Pot / Earthenware – To enhance taste and retain prana in food
Small Brass Diya – Always lit during cooking or evening rituals
